Belcrest Memorial Park
Belcrest Memorial Park and Mausoleum is located on gentle green rolling hills, atop a bell-shaped crest overlooking the Willamette Valley in South Salem. Beautiful landscaping, including hundreds of varieties of trees, shrubs and flowers, enhance the natural beauty of the Park’s 70 acres. Belcrest was a tulip farm before the founding of the memorial park. Black and white photos of the property at that time are on display in our small museum, including records of funerals of many state Governors, Senators, Representatives, and many other prominent members of the community.
Since its establishment in 1928 by W.A. Laidlaw as one of the first and largest endowed care memorial parks on the West Coast, Belcrest has served the memorial needs of the surrounding community. We have served the Salem Area for 90 years and continue to be one of the premier cemetery and mausoleums on the west coast. Many of our employees have been with us for more than 25 years. Our heritage speaks for itself. Belcrest Memorial Park and Mausoleum was established in 1928 and our staff has maintained our original principles of professionalism and care. We provide a dignified, peaceful park-like setting to honor your loved ones.
Belcrest is what many have called the “jewel” of Salem. Our 70 acres contain a large variety of trees and plants. All seasons bring their special sights, and every month has something in bloom. Even in winter, the strawberry madrones display their flowers. Belcrest is a non-denominational, endowed care cemetery, serving all faiths and veterans. Options include traditional burial, double-depth lawn crypts, mausoleum crypts and columbarium niches made of glass, marble, and bronze. We have a lakeside cremation garden and wildlife is abundant throughout the park. All of our services are designed to help our client families through one of the most personal and challenging stages of life. We understand losing a loved one is an emotional and difficult experience, and we are committed to helping our client families with compassionate, professional and personal service. Many of our employees have family members interred at Belcrest, and every family is treated with respect and care.
